I’ve been curious about relationships ever since I was a young girl. I remember watching my mother captivate the room with the way that she moved her hips and curved her lips into a smile.

But I also remember her struggling in her relationship with my father. They never felt like a true team. I’d watch my friends' parents and notice different techniques. Some teams stayed strong and passionate. They had fun, they created beautiful homes. Others fizzled or were full of drama.

My home was full of chaos, and it affected us kids.

When I think about making the biggest impact in the world, I think about the place where we spend the majority of our time — in our homes.

For decades, I deeply wanted to create a home with someone. To create a safe, beautiful, abundant, lifelong partnership — but it felt like swimming in the ocean when I’d never before touched water.

First, I had a terrible sense of who would actually make a quality partner for me. These weren’t bad people, they were just not matches for the partnership and home life that I desired. I went for sexy people. Or people with resources.

After two failed marriages, I came face to face with what I was avoiding: I had never really gotten clear with what I wanted to create in my life, in my home — and that now was the time to do it.

That began the most incredible journey — which I’ll be taking you on in “It’s A Yes!” — which has lead to a partnership that is beyond my wildest dreams, one that I can let go into. I let him lead not because he forces it, but because it is an honor to devote myself to him. I’ve never had this type of partnership before and now that it’s here in my life, I want this feeling for everyone.

To me, love is what makes life worth living. All kinds of love. And true, amazing partnership is what is most needed to shift the world. We get to change the world through our homes first.
